Rhinoplasty is an intervention to correct any defect of the nose, either for aesthetic reasons only or to reconstruct a malformation, trauma, etc.
Rhinoplasty requires a joint study between patient and surgeon, to observe a priori the desired shape and size. Sometimes there is also a respiratory alteration due to a defect in the nasal or septal septum, which can be corrected simultaneously (rhinoseptoplasty). It can also be performed associated with an increase or reduction of the chin, to achieve the profile desired by the patient, as well as an increase in the prominence of the cheekbones by different techniques.
The intervention is usually done through the nostrils, so there are no external scars. The intervention can be performed on an outpatient basis or with a 24-hour hospital admission.
